These screen guides were custom fabricated for a cooling tower at a chemical plant in Texas. These anchor bars are used to secure the screen guides to the concrete. These screen guides are 10″ in width and are 42″ in length. All components were completely fabricated from A36 carbon steel with a galvanized finish. Standard quality control inspections were performed before shipment.
Many plants, such as power, petroleum refineries, metal processing, and other industrial facilities are designed to use open recirculating systems utilizing cooling towers for heat transfer from condensers and other heat exchangers through a process called “latent heat of vaporization.”
Within these cooling towers, screen guides are used in a gravity-flow distribution system where supply water flows or cascades down over successive offset levels of horizontal screens or splash bars into a basin. These guides provide a means by which screens or splash bars are supported from a concrete structure. The screens are intended to lower the temperature of water by causing the water to spread over large areas to promote maximum exposure to airflow as it cascades from the top of the tower into the lower basin. One side of the guide provides a “slot” by which screens or other types of “surfaces” can be installed. The other side of the guides are fitted with bent “strip anchor bars” similar to those used for embed plates. As a manufacturer of embed plates, we also supply these for mining facilities, semiconductor plants, wastewater treatment plants, or any construction site where there is steel attached to a concrete panel or slab.

- Cost effective
- Easy to move
- Compact folding function for storing
- Minimal set-up for convenient access
- Includes bulletproof riot shields rack for placement/storage
- No maintenance required
PT&P designed and fabricated a full coverage bulletproof shield for a company in Texas. This critical defense product is cost-effective, easy to move, compact to store, and convenient to access at a moment’s notice. Each unit includes slots in order to store four bulletproof riot shields. We hope the need never arises; however, this safety product is suited for public spaces such as schools, churches, concerts, public events, government agencies, and functions. The shield can function as a cover for a doorway providing safety to inhabitants while also allowing for mobility enabling persons the ability to exit safely from an unforeseen situation. The key design considerations this shield sought to address were safety of the defense personnel by providing for head to toe protection but also enabling mobility during one onto one incidents.
In addition to our deep technical expertise in the design and manufacturing of supports and expansion joints for piping systems, we have always been able to pivot to build what is the task in the moment by our customers and community. The bulletproof shield showcases our ability to be flexible, think outside of the box, and solve most problems.
Some of our key products, such as the big ton, are a product of this kind of exchange with our customers. We invite you to take a look at your project needs and our scale and capabilities and ask what we can do for you.

These shields are fabricated from carbon steel with a two-coat paint system. They are 11” diameter, and range in lengths up to 48”.
Read MoreClosure Flange Support Hinges for Supporting Medium to Heavy Duty Blind Flanges
Presently, blind flanges are used to provide an airtight cover to various piping systems that include pipelines in the oil industry, heat exchangers, ships, tanks, etc.
Routine maintenance requires the heavy duty blind flange to be removed for cleaning and repairs. However, for these types of flanges, it is quite difficult to disassemble, clean and repair. It typically requires employing a forklift, crane, or other lifting devices. This can require excessive man-hours, and the alignment of the flanges can remain unpredictable.
PT&P introduced a closure flange hinge with specially designed self‐locking bolts and two self-lubricated hinge studs to support the blind flange when all the fastening bolts are removed for maintenance or replacement. The blind flange can be opened like a “door” with little effort. Our product opens up to 180 degrees, providing full accessibility to work on the pipeline, heat exchanger, or other equipment.
To solve the issues, PT&P invented two versions of closure flange hinges for blind flanges: temporary / removable hinge and permanent / fixed hinge
PT&P recently designed 159 permanent and removable hinges for up to 72″ diameters, We can accommodate for larger sizes upon request.
