When this cylindrical shaped support is mounted on a flat surface, its load carrying capability is limited because there is only line contact at the underside of the support. Similarly, there is an even greater limitation on the load carrying capability of this model when mounted on pipe rolls because of the point contact resulting in deformation of the sheet metal jacket and/or damage to the calcium silicate insulation under heavy loads.
